My opinion of movies recently is that everyone is so caught up trying to be at the top of the charts that they have forgotten about creativity, originality, and most of all... magic.
So many movies I have seen lately have bored me. The same goal, same feel... Same, same, same! They are trying so hard (and you can tell!) that it makes me feel disappointed in the in the world. Material is not always the way to go.
Saturday, March 10th, I had a breath of fresh air. I rented a movie that looked cute... Honestly I am usually very disappointed in my choices when I pick a movie on a whim. However, I was rewarded with a movie that I now want to own.
Hugo.
I try not to judge books or movies by their cover or title... though I end up catching myself looking for an interesting cover... Normally I would have looked at the cover of this movie and thought "looks like a cute kids movie." then I would have looked at the title and passed it by.
However, I was in a very strange mood, and the movie just called to me, asking to be a part of my life in a most life changing way ;).
Hugo is a rare treasure. It is magic found in everyday real life. I find myself wondering if I had blinked at all while I watched this movie.
I was riveted.
There were many times that I caught myself holding my breath, so caught up in the plot that I would forget to breath.
The twists will pull you in so deep and let you out gently and wonderfully. The beautiful cinematography and creative, original story brings the magic back into the world when - at the very least- I Needed it most!
(Hugo was Directed by Martin Scorsese, screenplay by John Logan, Based on a book by Brian Selznick. Released November 2011. 126 minutes. Rated PG.) A great movie for the whole family!
Recommended for anyone looking for a new adventure. Watch the Trailer.
This is not endorsed by M. Scorsese, J. Logan, B. Selznick or Paramount Pictures. It is an honest opinion by a very opinionated girl.
